Defended a large electronics manufacturer with facilities in Orange County in a wage and hour class action. Plaintiff alleged both meal and rest period claims on behalf of 1,300 hourly employees, as well as overtime claims based on a challenge to the exempt status of the company’s buyers.
Defeated two class certifications motions completely on the merits, one by the original plaintiff and the second by a successor plaintiff who sought to overcome the deficiencies in the first motion. Plaintiffs’ final demand before the class certification motion was $1.5 million.
The case is now on appeal.
