Jeremy G. Suiter

Although I have not worked with an attorney before in business litigation, as part of my career I
have worked extensively with legal counsel, including at well-known firms. Some very good
attorneys, but no one of the caliber of Mr. Suiter.

When contentious disputes between business partners or investors in closely-held companies jeopardize future operations, Jeremy Suiter provides productive solutions to move forward. For 20 years Jeremy has helped closed corporations, LLCs and partnerships resolve breach of contract, fraud, trade secret and unfair competition matters cost-effectively — even at trial. He also counsels companies on internal business litigation concerning shareholder, partnership and business valuation disputes.

Whether Jeremy is advising local businesses in California-based litigation or counseling out-of-state clients on California law, his client’s desired outcome informs his strategy. His many repeat clients credit his ability to set and explain realistic expectations while minimizing lasting damage to relationships or the company. When trial or arbitration is the best path, Jeremy’s sound judgment help to avoid unnecessary chaos by focusing on the most efficient route to resolution.

Before joining Stradling, Jeremy was a litigator with Latham & Watkins LLP. He also served in federal clerkships to the Honorable Mary Beck Briscoe, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and the Honorable Richard W. Vollmer Jr., U.S. District Court, Southern District of Alabama.

Some highlights of Jeremy’s career include the following matters:

Secured a seven-figure recovery for a victim of a Ponzi scheme in which the main perpetrator was ultimately sentenced to federal prison. Jeremy achieved all requested relief for his client, including a temporary restraining order and a writ of attachment against the perpetrator, his wife, both of their businesses and all of their accounts.

Defended a company founder who was sued by numerous investors for breach of fiduciary duties, breach of contract and breach of shareholder agreements. Jeremy avoided a temporary restraining order or any adverse action against the company.

Obtained a favorable settlement for Caliber Home Loans, the plaintiff, in a trade secret case against former employees and their new company.

Defended former shareholders of an out-of-state construction company sold to a California-based company in three cases for which Jeremy achieved favorable settlements and arbitration awards.

Defended an investment banking network and its officers against claims by the Corporations Commissioner that they improperly solicited investors and diverted investor funds for improper purposes.

Secured a favorable settlement on behalf of  Abracon Corporation and its two founding shareholders against several business tort claims by the third shareholder.
