    Securities Litigation & M&A Practice Groups Receive National Recognition from Legal500

    Stradling’s Securities Litigation and M&A practice groups were ranked in the newly released 2018 edition of The Legal 500 United States, published on May 30. This marks the first time the M&A practice has been ranked in the Middle Market (sub $500 million) category, and the second year in a row the securities litigation practice secured a spot in the table. Litigation shareholders John Cannon, Kathleen Marcus, and Jason de Bretteville, and corporate shareholders Chris Ivey, Mark Skaist, and Ryan Azlein were individually commended for their work.

    Legal 500 Recognizes Stradling’s Securities Litigation Practice

    Stradling’s Securities Litigation practice group was ranked in the newly released 2017 edition of The Legal 500 United States. Described as a “an excellent boutique for high-end corporate advisory and litigation work,” the Legal 500 guide specifically called out shareholder John Cannon, chair of Stradling’s litigation department, as a “consummate professional,” and highlighted shareholder Jason de Bretteville, a former U.S. Attorney and chair of the White Collar practice group, as a “real up-and-coming young partner.” Kathleen Marcus, co-chair of the firm’s Enforcement Defense & Investigations practice group and chair of the Compliance & Corporate Governance practice group, was also recommended by the guide.

    SEC Renews its Focus on Fake News

    Compliance Week Interviewed Stradling shareholder Kathleen Marcus, co-chair of the Enforcement Defense & Investigations practice group and chair of the Compliance & Corporate Governance practice group, for an article about the SEC’s recent enforcement actions in this arena. Marcus commented that some of the firm’s clients have fallen “victim to fake websites that are putting out false information. It has actually been what I would refer to as a ‘bear attack.’

    Mexico-Based Homex Reaches Settlement with the SEC

    The Daily Journal interviewed Stradling shareholder Kathleen Marcus, co-chair of the Enforcement Defense & Investigations practice group and chair of the Compliance & Corporate Governance practice group, for an article about Desarrolladora Homex, a prominent Mexico-based homebuilding company, accused of falsely reporting the sale of more than 100,000 homes to boost company revenues.
