Location API Provider Avoids FTC Enforcement Action with Stradling’s Assistance

Successfully defended a location API provider in an investigation launched by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regarding a high-profile privacy controversy and a subsequent data security incident. Stradling directed an independent investigation of the security incident and helped the company navigate inquiries from wireless carriers, members of Congress who are active in the wake of the Facebook/Cambridge Analytica scandal, and multiple media outlets. The FTC concluded its investigation without any determination regarding a violation.

The Stradling team defending the company included Mark Skaist, Travis BrennanMaren Hufton and Kathleen Marcus.
