Shea Properties Management Co. and Fairfield Properties Secure Summary Judgment in Tenant Screening Class Action

Represented Shea Properties Management Company and Fairfield Properties in two related class actions involving tenant screening procedures and fees in residential multi-family properties. The plaintiffs claimed violations of the California Investigative Consumer Reporting Agencies Act and the Consumer Credit Reporting Agencies Act (the state equivalent of the FCRA). Both cases were ultimately coordinated with Ortiz v. Lyon Management, which was decided on summary judgment in favor of the defendant and affirmed on appeal (we filed an amicus brief in that case).
