Stephen T. Kong is a shareholder in Stradling's Corporate and Intellectual Property practice groups and is chair of the firm's Technology Transactions practice group.
Stephen has extensive experience with technology transactions, intellectual property licensing, content and media transactions, the intellectual property aspects of mergers and acquisitions, and open source counseling.
On December 23, 2016, Stradling client Clearlake Capital Group-backed Syncsort Inc., the global leader in Big Iron to Big Data solutions, purchased Trillium Software from Harte Hanks, a global marketing services firm specializing in multi-channel marketing solutions, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, for $112 million. The acquisition of Trillium will be the largest in Syncsort's history.
The $26 million Series C Preferred Stock financing of 4C Insights, Inc., led by Stradling client Kayne Partners, was completed. Kayne is the growth private equity group of Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, L.P., an alternative investment firm managing over $23 billion in assets. 4C Insights is a global leader in data science and media technology. 4C’s existing investors also participated in the round.
