Whittaker Corporation Porta Bella Project

Representation of Whittaker Corporation in connection with the entitlement and development of its 1000 acre project in Santa Clarita, California.

The representation included the negotiation of a development agreement with a developer for services to be provided for the design and entitlement of the project, the representation of Whittaker and the developer on all entitlement matters, including the preparation and negotiation of a Development Agreement with the City of Santa Clarita which vested Whittaker with the right to develop 3000 homes and 2.8 Million square feet of commercial space on the property, representation of Whittaker at public hearings concerning the certification of the Environmental Impact Report and approval of the Vesting Tentative Map, and negotiations with the City concerning conditions of approval for the Project, and a long term lease for a Metrolink site. The project also involved significant environmental issues arising out of the long term manufacturing operations which Whittaker and its predecessors had conducted on the property.
