Allison E. Burns practices civil litigation with an emphasis on public law matters. She has particular experience in eminent domain, environmental disputes, water rights, land use, general real estate, contract disputes, and construction matters.
Cases Ms. Burns has litigated include eminent domain representing both condemnees and condemnors, breach of CC&Rs, foreclosure of tax, special assessments and liens, construction disputes, contamination remediation cost-recovery actions, evictions, challenges to bond issuances and low-and-moderate-income housing fund expenditures, and other city and public agency programs.
Ms. Burns received her J.D. degree from the University of California, Davis, School of Law in 1998, having served as a judicial extern for Justice Fred K. Morrison, Third District Court of Appeal, State of California, in 1996, and Honorable Garland E. Burrell, U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of California, in 1997. She earned her B.A. degree with honors in 1995 from the University of California, Irvine, where she received the Marder Essay Award for her honors thesis.
