David G. Casnocha is the managing shareholder of the San Francisco office and a member of the Firm’s Board of Directors. He has practiced in municipal finance for more than 33 years and serves as bond and disclosure counsel to pubic agencies and underwriter's counsel to both national and regional investment banking firms. He has particular experience in primary and secondary school district financings, general obligation bonds, bond anticipation notes, certificates of participation, lease financing, tax and revenue anticipation notes. He has served as bond counsel to more than 450 school and community college districts in California.
In addition, Mr. Casnocha has also represented the California Education Facilities Authority on numerous private university financings and represents a range of nonprofit corporations who incur tax-exempt debt to finance their charitable purposes. As bond counsel to the California League of Community Colleges, he has helped design tax-exempt pool financings for tax and revenue anticipation notes, lease revenue bonds, solar energy projects and student housing. He also served as bond counsel on other post employment benefit (“OPEB”) bond issues. He is experienced in a range of revenue bond financings for water, sewer and a variety of other enterprise systems.
He received his J.D. degree from Cornell University in 1976, having earned his B.A., summa cum laude, from Claremont Men’s College in 1973.

He is especially proud to have been named Dusty Baker Manager of the Year by the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department Youth Baseball Program.
